Brecknock PTO's Events
Below you'll find descriptions of the events the PTO runs, in the month they usually occur. We're always looking for new activities and events we can offer our students and their families, so keep an eye on flyers and media posts to stay up-to-date!
September
Movie Night
Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and appetites to this evening of fun under the stars! We start out with all kinds of tasty treats for sale and then show a family-friendly movie at dusk. This event is usually at the beginning of the year, so keep your eyes peeled for info!
October
Fall Family Fun Night
We often host our fall event at Brecknock Orchard and it has been wonderful! There is so much to do: Wagon ride, pumpkin and apple picking, caramel apple dipping, a hay maze, and much more!
November
Staff Lunch
While this is not an event for students and families to attend, it is something the PTO provides and counts on your generosity for. We provide an all-day lunch for the teachers the last Friday before Thanksgiving break, our way of saying "thank you" for all they do for our students and us. We'll need many donations of food items for those days and your contributions are greatly appreciated!
December
Holiday Shop
This is a special school-time event for students to buy gifts for their loved ones, and we always need help running it.
Family Craft Night
Replacing our Gingerbread Night, this event will be an opportunity for families to come to the school and create holiday-themed crafts together
January
Reading Challenge
During January we have a special reading challenge set up for our students.

February

We currently don't have any regular events in February. If you have an idea you think would be a good fit, let us know!
March
Family Swim Night
We reserve the pool at GMIS for an evening and enjoy a winter swim. Please note that, like all our events, this is not "drop-off" and we need adults to remain in the pool area with their children, even if they're able swimmers.
April
Book Fair
Taking place on the same nights as Open House, this 2 day event offers you and your children the chance to browse and buy Scholastic books at great prices. The best part? The dollars you spend there help support the school by earning Scholastic dollars, which allow us to purchase books for the classrooms!
May
Sprint to Spring & Family Carnival
The culmination of weeks of donations, this is the day the students get to run around the school and engage in other fun activities to support the school through this wildly successful fundraiser.
We then follow up the school event with a family event to celebrate everyone's hard work with music, food, games & more!
